One small step for Phoebe...

Birthday the First

On september 23 the babies (and those who love them) graduated from the first year!! These are just a few picks from a little party with Aunties Lara and Michele-- but stay tuned for a video summary that includes the week-long celebration with Tia Maria, Auntie Galie, Nanny Becca, and of course..... their Moma

Griffin knows that it is always polite to read the card before opening the gift, well and take your sister's card too....even if you can't read

what a perfect gift....Griffin loves doggies, and hoodies...

...well, and frankly boxes

Michele and Phoebe discuss what will go best with her new outfit, while Griffin has continued his investigation of good uses for the box

Michele reminds Phoebe that anything she wears will be pretty, Phoebe agrees and adds that it is because she is pretty...very very pretty (just ask her)!

but even pretty girls need to be well-educated, so Phoebe dives right into the book that Lara brought all the way from Hawaii....

...and Griffin continues to find more uses for the box

No party is complete without cake, mommy wanted to light the candles, but Lara reminded her that babies may not know to blow them out, and may eat or grab them....good call Lara!

eating commences....Griff gives it one touch and immediate leaves insisting that his hand be cleaned IMMEDIATELY!!

Phoebe took care of business.....

Autum in New York

We have recently moved into an apartment on campus, which as you can see, seems to have already added to the babies "cool" factor!!

Phoebe chose the Hollywood style, trying to blend in with the cool crowd at Vassar

While Griffin decided to try to gain access to the hip nerd clique!

I am posting these two pictures below, because they are typical of how our meals tend to go--- they have had EXACTLY the same dinner, but there are usually a few differences about how the meal is consumed......and the resulting aftermath!

Richard's Visit

We were so lucky to have our friend Richard Schultz come to Peaks Island for a visit in August, and he took some wonderful photographs of the babies, had to post too many, because I could not pick favorites-- they are all gorgeous. They were taken on the porch of our beach club where we have enjoyed tennis and social fun for three generations.
